January & February

So, we started out the year with Heather's annual New Year's Eve Harry Potter Party.  Taylor, Maddie, and Annie came over around 10:00 AM to start the movie marathon.  We ate Paddington Burgers, Pumpkin Pasties, Bangers & Mash, Cauldron Cakes, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and, of course, Butter Beer.  The girls played Harry Potter Clue and a couple other games, like Harry Potter Trivia.  It was a lot of fun.  We put Tony to bed early and turned on the sound machine to drown out any "girl" noise.  At midnight, we went out front to set off fireworks (now that they are legal).  It was so FREEZING!  None of the girls wanted to do it except for Annie.  I couldn't deprive her of New Year's Eve fireworks, so we went out front.  Pretty soon, the rest of the girls came out.  We lit them as fast as we could and ran back inside to get warm.

My actual 25th Wedding Anniversary was on January 3, but we celebrated the week of January 16 in Costa Rica (see previous post).

On January 12, Tony, Heather, and I (along with the rest of the Heywoods) flew to Salt Lake City, UT to attend the wedding of my cute niece, Savanna Davidson.  Savanna is the oldest daughter of Tony's oldest sister, Jolene. Heather and Taylor sat together on the plane and we were able to keep Taylor with us Wednesday night at the hotel (which Heather loved).  Those two girls have so much fun together.  Early Thursday morning, Deanna, Jill and I took the kids (Taylor, Maddie, Dana, Luke, Chris and Heather) to the Salt Lake Temple to perform some geneology work for ancestors. Then, around 10:30 AM, we met up with the rest of the family to attend Savanna and Ryan's wedding.  Tony's dad was able to marry Savanna and Ryan.  He did such a great job.  We sure missed Jolene being there, but I know she was there in spirit.  Savanna looked so beautiful.  They make such a nice couple.  It was nice getting better acquainted with Ryan when he stayed with us for a few days the end of December.  After the wedding, we attended the wedding luncheon at the Lion House.  Yum!  I would have been happy with a lunch of just the rolls!  The reception was held at Ryan's church.  They had a hot chocolate bar and a cupcake bar.  There was some fun dancing.  As we sent them off on their new life adventure, it started to snow.  It was cold!

We flew home on Friday, January 14 and then left for Costa Rica the next day.  Costa Rica was awesome!

Shana and Tim finally had baby Troy on January 22 at 2:40 am. He was a big guy:  9 lbs 10 1/2 oz and 22 inches long.

On January 25, Heather got her hair cute.  She looks SOOOO cute!  Well, she did before, but the new hairstyle is SOOOOO cute!

On February 12, Tony and I ran in the Sedona Marathon.  We participated in the half marathon:  13.1 miles.  Tony did so awesome for his first race.  I improved my time by 15 minutes.
